About Inez...
Inez Spates is a Ventura County, California native with deep military roots and a heart for community. She brings a unique blend of professional expertise in organizational management, human resources, and adult learning, paired with decades of hands-on community engagement in education, faith-based initiatives, youth development, and public service.
A natural community connector, Inez is deeply committed to supporting initiatives centered on wellness, leadership, and cultural connection. She is a Certified Coach with the John Maxwell Leadership Team and the founder of Inez Knows, LLC, where she provides coaching, consulting, and training services. Through her work as a coach and mentor, she is especially passionate about mental health, resilience, effective communication, and helping individuals translate insight into meaningful, sustainable action.
Inez brings extensive experience coaching leaders, teams, and individuals in areas such as stress management, communication, time management, and team building. At the core of her work is a genuine passion for helping people reach their goals, navigate challenges, and move forward with clarity and confidence during difficult seasons.
Her community impact includes serving as a consultant for El Jardín Wellness, supporting initiatives such as the Community Wellness Pachanga, and serving as the 2026 Debutante Ball Narrator for the 20th Century Onyx Club—an honor that reflects her commitment to empowering youth and celebrating culture, leadership, and excellence.
She holds an Associate of Science in Child Development, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management, and a Master of Science in Leadership and Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management. She currently serves on the Port of Hueneme Annual Banana Festival Planning Team and is the Project Manager for the Soulful Remedy Concert Series, an initiative centered on the belief that Music Is Medicine.
Inez previously contributed as a columnist for the Tri-County Sentry and has been a featured speaker at events including The Real Women’s Conference and The Fragrant Oil Conference. She has also appeared on radio shows and podcasts such as The Good Life with Dr. Lori, Sister to Sister, Doers with Coach Desmond Antonio Blackburn, and The Urban Birds & Bees Podcast. In 2024, she premiered her vodcast, Turning the Tables, on YouTube.
